Tips for saving water

  • Immediately fix dripping faucets, running cisterns, and generally all leaks you detect in your plumbing installations, because they cause enormous waste of water.
  • Water your balcony plants and flowers with a watering can, early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when evaporation is limited and less water is required.
  • Wash your car with a sponge and bucket instead of a hose.
  • Clean your yards, terraces, balconies, sidewalks and generally all the outdoor areas of your home by sweeping and mopping, without using a hose.
  • Place a plastic bag filled with water or a brick inside the cistern to limit the amount of water used for flushing. Alternatively, adjust the float on the cistern.
  • Prefer showering instead of filling your bathtub with water. The water savings will be great and your bill will be lower.
  • Do not leave the tap running when washing dishes, shaving or brushing your teeth. Thus, water is wasted unnecessarily.
  • Use dishwashers and washing machines when they are full and set them to the most economical program.
  • Keep an eye on your children and don’t let them waste water by playing with the taps in your home running.
  • Instead of washing and preparing fruits and vegetables under the running tap, fill a basin.
